Newmont Ghana Ltd recently commissioned the biggest CIL plant at it Ahafo operation. The plant is rated 1100tone/hr solids. The circuit is Carbon In Leach ( CIL) with gravity circuit incorporated.We were privileged to offer the Krebs millmax pump 28" x 26" which is designed to pump 8500cubic meters per hour for the cyclone feed stream. Newmont opted for the Krebs equipment as a result of the excellent performance they experienced from its Batu Haju operation in Indonesia. The pumps has so far done some 800hours with the wet end showing no signs of wear.

This is a good pump, we know this pump can handle the job - says Kevin Desomber Newmont Process plant Manager.Due to the excellent performance Newmont is getting from the pump they ordered the same size pump for it Akyem operations which is due for instalation in July 2007. The Akyem pumps would be the patent quick release millMAX pump from Krebs Engineers.

In the meantime Krebs Engineers over the century has been supplying the mining industry with cyclones. As you probably know Pumps and cyclone operate in a synergy so Newmont opted for the gMAX26 cyclones from Krebs for both Ahafo and Akyem operations
