The Company and its
Development Plans
Multi-Tech Services Limited was established in 1990 primarily to
provide Supplies and Technical Support to the Mining Industry. The
Company has developed, employing around 5 people in 1990 to
approximately 145 employees to date with varied degrees of skills,
mainly Engineering and Associated Disciplines.
The Primary objective, was and still is, to represent and provide
local support in Ghana and West Africa for “Blue Chip” Manufacturers
and Suppliers.
Multi-Tech has two divisions, the Mining & Industrial Technical
Supplies & Services responsible for Mineral Processing, Mining,
Pumps, Material Handling and Associated Products and the Plant &
Equipment Division, responsible for Volvo Construction Equipment,
Volvo Truck and Bus and Volvo Penta Engines..
The Mining and Industrial sector of Ghana’s economy was and still is
Multi-Tech’s main business area, providing the majority of our
turnover.
The expansion of the Mining Sector in Ghana, instigated by favourable
new Mining Laws introduced in the late 1980’s, attracted
International Exploration and Mining Companies requiring the
necessary Engineering and Support Services provided by Multi-Tech.
Ghana, having set the example for other West African countries with
mining potential, became the envy of West Africa, spurring
neighbouring countries to follow Ghana’s example in their quest to
attract investment. Therefore, companies which had first come to
Ghana and established operations used these operations as the hub and
springboard into West Africa.
Multi-Tech’s established business relationship with these companies
gave for continuity of the relationship which resulted in securing
varied levels of sales into Mali, Guinea, Ivory Coast, Niger, Burkina
Faso, Togo, Benin and even as far a field as Tanzania.
Multi-tech will continue to invest and expand in Ghana and West
Africa |
